The user can select a count mode usinga setting. Table 4.1-22 and Figure 4.1-32 show the modes for which a user is required to changea mode in response to a device signal. For instance in the DPSY01 function, a user can selectthe mode using scheme switch [DPSY01-CNTS] ,which is set to C-On; counting-up is performedwhen a switchgear signal gives rise to a change in state from “Open to Closing”.Table 4.1-22 Mode of operation counterMode DescriptionC-On Counting-up is performed when a signal changes to closed (ON). When the signalis changed from “Open to Closed”, the counter value is incremented.C-Off Counting-up is performed when a signal changes to open (OFF). When the signalis changed from “Closed to Open”, the counter value is incremented.C-OnOff Counting-up occurs when any state change occurs: “Open to Closed” and “Closedto Open”.NA Stops the count function†Note:The operation-counter value is not cleared when power is removed from the IED.This counter is available in the DPSY01 and DPSY02 functions.ClosedOpenFigure 4.1-32 Device SignalThe user can change the value of the operation-counter from either the front panel orremotely. For example, in the sub-menu for “Operation Counter, the user can set a user-preferred value for the operation-counter.
