2) Lightly tighten the five mountingscrews w and stop turning themwhen resistance is felt, thereby fix-ing the cleaning blade in placetemporarily.3) Turn the screws fully (20° to 30°) inthe order shown in Figure 4-353.After installing the cleaning blade,check to make sure that the edgeof the blade is not appreciablywavy. Be sure to clean the groovein which the blade of the bladesupport plate is mounted, as thepresence of toner or the like cancause the blade to become wavy.4. Installing the Side Seal1) Attach the side seal q to the loca-tion indicated (both ends; make surethat the edge of the seal is asfollows):• If you are replacing the side seal qat the front, push the magnetic rollerw toward the rear; then, work sothat the inner edge of the side sealis within the washer area e.• If you are replacing the side seal qat the rear, push the magnetic rollerw toward the front; then, work sothat the inner edge of the side sealis within the washer area e.2) Make sure that the bottom edge ofeach side seal q is 0 to 0.5 mm raway from the corner of the cleanerhousing.3) Fix the size seal q (both front andrear) to the cleaner housing at thelocation indicated.CHAPTER 4 IMAGE FORMATION SYSTEM4-64 COPYRIGHT © 1997 CANON INC.
