7. Installing the Fixing HeaterInstall the heater by reversing thesteps used to remove it with thefollowing in mind:a. Do not touch the surface of theheater.b. Orient both heaters so that the sideswith longer heater wires are towardthe front.c. Install the main heater (600 W) tothe right and the sub heater (600 W)to the left when viewing from thefront.d. While viewing from the rear of thecopier, connect the faston on theright to the main heater and thefaston at the top to the sub heater.8. Removing the Fixing Upper Roller1) Slide out the fixing/feeding unit fromthe copier.2) Remove the fixing/feeding assemblyfront cover.3) Open the fixing/delivery assembly.4) Remove the flywheel.5) Remove the fixing upper cover, andremove the fixing cleaning belt;then, clean the silicone oil pan, andremove the fixing upper unit.6) Remove the main heater and thesub heater.7) Remove the two mounting screwsw used to hold the fixing cleaningbelt assembly q in place, andrelease the cleaning belt.8) Remove the two mounting screwse, and remove the heater holder rat the rear.CHAPTER 6 FIXING SYSTEM6-25COPYRIGHT © 1997 CANON INC.
