Photosensitive Drumnn Points to Note When Handling thePhotosensitive DrumThe machine uses an amorphoussilicon drum, which will be subject todeterioration if not oriented correctly(applicable to the process unit also).Keep the following in mind wheneveryou need to handle the photosensitivedrum:q If you have removed the processunit from the copier or removed thephotosensitive drum from theprocess unit, be sure to protect thephotosensitive drum from light bywrapping it with the photosensitivedrum protection sheet or six or moresheets of A3 (11"×17") or largercopy paper.w Do not place the process unit or thephotosensitive drum near a windowor in an area exposed to direct raysof the sun.e Do not work in an area where thetemperature/humidity changesabruptly or subject to a high/lowtemperature/humidity.r Do not work in an area subject todust, ammonium gas, or organicgas.The foregoing points apply equallyto all types of photosensitive drums.1. Removing the Drum Unit1) Open the front door, and slide outthe hopper assembly.2) Remove the process unit.
