4. Installing the Fixing Cleaning BeltInstall the fixing cleaning belt byreversing the steps used to remove it.1) Wind the cleaning belt around thecleaning belt take-up roller q twiceto three times. When installing it tothe front, be sure that the arm guideplate w is on the outside of thetake-up roller.At this time, check to make sure thatthe area coming into contact with theroller is impregnated with oil.Check to make sure that the fixingcleaning belt is not wound askewor it is not slack or wrinkled.In addition, make sure that thedirection of winding and theorientation are as shown in Figure6-203.2) After installing the fixing cleaningbelt, move the one-way lever e inthe direction of the arrow (Figure 6-208); then, turn it until all the slackhas been removed from the fixingcleaning belt.Be sure to reset the counter (*6*;‘WEB’) to ‘0’ after replacing thefixing cleaning belt.CHAPTER 6 FIXING SYSTEM6-21COPYRIGHT © 1997 CANON INC.
