Phaser 6180MFP Multifunction Printer Service Manual 1-25General InformationOperating ModeThe Phaser 6180MFP consists of the following operating modes:■ Running Mode: The Printer, Scanner, and Fax communication operatesin the Print mode, Scan mode, and Fax mode respectively. More than oneof these three modes can exist concurrently.■ Ready Mode: When the machine is turned On, it changes from the powerOff state to Ready mode. In this mode, the Copying, Fax Sending, andNetwork Scanning features are available from the Control Panel. FaxReceiving, Printing, PC Direct Fax, and Local Scanning are alsoavailable).■ Sleep Mode: The Printer enters into the Sleep mode to reduce powerconsumption when it has not received data for the specified time.NoteThe transfer time from Ready mode to Sleep mode can be changedvia the Control Panel menu. Setting Range: 1 to 60 minutes.■ Deep Sleep Mode (ENERGY STAR): The Printer automatically enters intothe Deep Sleep mode when Sleep mode has continued for the specifiedtime.NoteThe transfer time from the Sleep mode to Deep Sleep mode can bechanged via the Control Panel menu. Setting Range: 5 to 120minutes.
