2-36 Phaser 6180MFP Multifunction Printer Service ManualTheory of OperationPrint CartridgeThe Print Cartridge is a customer replaceable item consisting of the followingcomponents:■ Customer Replaceable Unit Memory (CRUM) ConnectorThe CRUM Connector reads and writes the CRUM data. Printer specificinformation is stored in the CRUM. When toner empty is detected, LifeEnd status will be sent to indicate toner empty.■ Dispenser (C/M/Y/K)The Dispenser provides drive energy to the Agitator and Auger in the PrintCartridge, and provides toner to the Developer part of the Print Cartridge.■ Print CartridgeThe printer contains four Print Cartridges: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, andBlack.
