8-22Troubleshooting8Paper JamsWhen the message that indicates a paper jam occurring inside the top coverremains in the Printer Status Window even after the top cover is closed, thejammed paper may still remain in the fixing unit. Remove the jammed paperfollowing the procedure in "When the Message that Indicates a Paper Jam DoesNot Disappear" (See p. 8-22).When the Message that Indicates a Paper Jam Does NotDisappearWhen the message that indicates a paper jam occurring inside the top cover isdisplayed even after the jammed paper is removed and the display of the PrinterStatus Window is refreshed, this indicates that the jammed paper still remains inthe fixing unit. Remove the fixing unit using the following procedure to remove thejammed paper.CAUTIONThe fixing unit and its surroundings inside the printer are hot during use. Makesure the fixing unit is completely cool before removing the jammed paper.Touching the fixing unit when it is still hot may result in burns.IMPORTANTWhen you remove the fixing unit, the data being printed will be deleted because you haveto turn the power of the printer OFF. Print the data again after removing the jammedpaper.
