Section 8: TSP command reference Model 2461 Interactive SourceMeter® Instrument Reference Manual8-132 2461-901-01 A/November 2015DetailsThis command determines how the range is selected. When this command is set to off, you must set the range. If you do not set the range, the instrumentremains at the range that was last selected by autorange. When this command is set to on, the instrument automatically goes to the most sensitive range toperform the measurement. If a range is manually selected through the front panel or a remote command, this command isautomatically set to off.Examplesmu.measure.func = smu.FUNC_DC_CURRENTsmu.measure.autorange = smu.ONSet the measurement function to current.Set the range to be set automatically. Also seeRanges (on page 2-124)smu.measure.range (on page 8-166)smu.measure.autorangehighWhen autorange is selected, this attribute represents the highest measurement range that is used when theinstrument selects the measurement range automatically.Type TSP-Link accessible Affected by Where saved Default valueAttribute (RW) Yes Restore configurationInstrument resetPower cycleMeasure configuration listFunction changeConfiguration scriptMeasure configuration listResistance: 200 MΩVoltage: 7 VCurrent: 100 mAUsagehighRange = smu.measure.autorangehighsmu.measure.autorangehigh = highRangehighRange The highest resistance measurement range that is used when the range is setautomatically:• Current: 1 μA to 7 A (10 A pulsed)• Voltage: 0.2 V to 100 V• Resistance: 2 Ω to 200 MΩDetailsThis command can be written to and read for resistance measurements. For current and voltagemeasurements, it can only be read. For current and voltage measurements, the upper limit is controlled by the current or voltage limit. For resistance measurements, you can use this command when automatic range selection is enabledto put an upper bound on the range that is used for resistance measurements. The upper limit must be more than the lower limit. If the lower limit is equal to the upper limit, automatic range setting is effectively disabled.
