Model 2461 Interactive SourceMeter® Instrument Reference Manual Appendix D: Convert Model 2400 to Model 2461 code2461-901-01 A/November 2015 D-3Compliance is now limitThe Series 2400 instruments used the term "compliance" to specify the maximum current or voltagethat the instrument can source. The Model 2461 uses the term "source limit" for similar commands. To read a general description, see Source limits. This change affected the commands that you use to set and verify the source limit. The followingtable shows the Series 2400 and the Model 2461 command that replaces it.Series 2400 command Model 2461 command[:SENSe[1]]:CURRent[:DC]:PROTection[:LEVel] :SOURce[1]:VOLTage:ILIMit:[LEVel][:SENSe[1]]:CURRent[:DC]:PROTection[:LEVel]? :SOURce[1]:VOLTage:ILIMit:[LEVel]?[:SENSe[1]]:CURRent[:DC]:PROTection:TRIPped? :SOURce[1]:VOLTage:ILIMit:[LEVel]:TRIPped?[:SENSe[1]]:VOLTage[:DC]:PROTection[:LEVel] :SOURce[1]:CURRent:VLIMit:[LEVel][:SENSe[1]]:VOLTage[:DC]:PROTection[:LEVel]? :SOURce[1]:CURRent:VLIMit:[LEVel]?[:SENSe[1]]:VOLTage[:DC]:PROTection:TRIPped? :SOURce[1]:CURRent:VLIMit:[LEVel]:TRIPped?For additional detail, see the following command descriptions::SOURce[1]::LIMit[:LEVel] (on page 6-94):SOURce[1]::LIMit[:LEVel]:TRIPped? (on page 6-95)Event logThe Model 2461 provides expanded system event logging. Events include errors, warnings, andinformation messages. You can also log commands through the front panel. In the Model 2461, event tracking is done as events are received by the instrument, not when theyare executed.Refer to Using the event log (on page 2-142) for information.BuffersThe Series 2400 has two buffers. The Model 2461 has two default buffers and you can defineadditional buffers. Only one buffer is active. For information about using buffers, see Reading buffers (on page 3-2).
