Initializing the memory cardsBefore an memory card is used in this unit, the card must beinitialized by the unit without fail.By initializing the memory card formats (in compliance withthe SD standard) it creates the dedicated directory.(All files saved on the memory card will be erased.)1 Insert the memory card into the unit’s memory card slot.2 Press the v button to light its indicator, and display theSD Card menu.3 Use [F1] to display the File1 sub menu.4 Use [F2] to select “Init” using the Mode item, and thenpress the [F2].If the memory card has not been inserted, “No Card” willappear at the Mode item.5 Press the [F1] (OK) to initialize the card.Before using a memory card in this unit, initialize it.This unit also supports SDHC memory cards.Memory cards can be initialized no matter whether theyare SD or SDHC memory cards.1-12-2. Saving data on memory cards1 Insert the memory card which has been initialized bythe unit, into the memory card slot.2 Press the v button to light its indicator, and display theSD Card menu.3 Use [F1] to display the File1 sub menu.4 Use [F2] to select “Save” using the Mode item, and thenpress the [F2].5 Use [F3] to select the data which is to be stored on thememory card using the Save Type item.The filename provided automatically is displayed in theFile Name item.Filenames are provided automatically using the runningnumber as shown below.memory data and setup data>hs001.xxx to hs100.xxx When changing a filename, press [F4] to open thekeyboard screen, input the filename, and close thekeyboard screen. Refer to “2-2-2. Keyboard screen operations”( Operating Instructions).hs001 to hs100 The name of the folder where the all files and log filesare saved serves as the filenames of the all files andlog files.The filenames of the all files and log files cannot bechanged on the keyboard screen.6 If the [F5] (Save) is now pressed, the file is stored onthe memory card.For the destinations where the data is stored, refer to folder configuration>. When storing video memory still images, the file formatcan be selected.On the SD Card menu, use [F1] to display the File2 submenu, and select the format of the file to be used whenstoring the data on the memory card using the Formatitem. Be aware that saving video memory still images on thememory card in GIF format will cause the picture qualityto deteriorate.
