To connect to theprinter using wireless LAN or an expansion networkinterface board, select the port name.z If you are using Mac OS 8.6/9.x, the printer can beused over the IP Print network. IP Print uses the TCP/IP protocol. For IP Print (Auto), if the TCP/IP settingshave been enabled on the Macintosh computer, theprinter can be used simply by connecting it to the LAN.To connect to the printer using IP Print, first save theIP address of the printer using Registering IPAddress... in Chooser, and then select IP Print andthe printer name.1 Installing the Network Interface Board → Quick StartGuideFirst, install the optional network interface board.2 Connecting the LAN Cable → P.5-5Connect the LAN port in the printer to the hub using anetwork cable.3 Configuring a Macintosh → P.5-21• Check the Macintosh network settings.4 Configuring the AppleTalk Protocol → P.5-25To connect to the printer using AppleTalk, enable theAppleTalk protocol on the printer.
