The printer will detect inkout and print operation will halt. Before you can use tankslike this, you must switch off the ink level detection function.If you print with the ink level detection switched off, theprinter (especially the printhead) may be damaged or otherproblems may arise. Canon, Inc. will assume noresponsibility for damages caused by using ink tanks notdesigned for use with the printer.Cautionz Once the ink level detection function has beenswitched off, the ink level detection function cannot berestored for the ink tanks in the printer. To restore theink level display, the ink tanks must be replaced withnew ink tanks designed for use with the printer.z If the same ink tank is repeatedly removed andreinserted, this could damage the connection pointsbetween the ink tank and the printer, leading to inkleakage which could damage the printer.Switching Off Ink Level Detection1 Press the Online button to display MAINMENU.2 Press the [] or [] button to selectSystem Setup then press [].3 Press [] or [] to select Stop Ink Check,then press [].4 Press [] or [] to select Bk Ink Tank,then press the OK button.Notez Press the Online button to cancel these procedures.5 When Stop Function? appears press []or [] to select Yes, then press OK button.An equals sign (=) appears as a prefix to the settingand the remaining ink detection function of theselected ink tank is switched off.
