6ScanThe scan feature supports several methods for scanning and storing an original document.This machine supports the following scan capabilities:• Email: Scans a document and sends the scanned data as an e-mail attachment afterconverting the data to TIFF, JPEG, PDF, DocuWorks®, or XPS (XML PaperSpecification).• Network Scanning: Scans a document using a job template that was created usingCentreWare® Internet Services (CWIS). When Scan to Home is enabled and theRemote Access feature is available, the scanned data can be transferred to a differentdestination according to an authenticated user.• Scan to PC: Scans a document and sends the scanned data to a network computervia the FTP or SMB protocol.• Store to Folder: Scans a document and saves the scanned data in a folder on themachine.• Send from Folder: Scans a document and temporarily saves the scanned data onthe machine. The user is notified by e-mail of the URL to the location where thescanned data is stored. Then, the user can access the URL to retrieve the scanneddata.• Store to USB: Scans a document and saves the scanned data to a USB memorydevice. (This is an optional feature.)• Store to WSD (Web Services on Device): You can scan documents set on the machineand save the scanned data from a computer. Also, you can save the scanned datato a computer on the network. (This is an optional feature.)Basic scanning procedure1. From the machine UI, press the Clear All button.This clears all previous settings from the machine.2.
