Setting Reception Functions 5-35Setting and Storing Custom Fax Settings5Setting Reception FunctionsYou can set various functions for receiving a fax.Specifying Whether or Not to Use ECM for ReceivedDocumentsYou can receive incoming documents using the Error Correction Mode (ECM).The ECM is a function which automatically corrects errors in an image while it is beingreceived.IMPORTANT• If you want to communicate using the ECM, it is necessary that the ECM function be set in both theother party’s machine and this machine. (Unless the ECM is set in both machines, this function willnot operate).• Even when you specify the ECM function, errors can sometimes occur due to a poor telephone line.• If trouble occurs in the telephone line, it will take some time for the documents to be received.NOTE• The default setting is “On.”1 Call up the desired screen as follows:(AdditionalFunctions)ECM RX
