The FPL page group includes two pages: theactive flight plan page and the flight plan catalog. Theactive flight plan page provides information and editingfeatures for the flight plan currently in use (referred toas “flight plan 00”). The flight plan catalog serves as themain page for creating new flight plans, as well as edit-ing or activating previously created flight plans.Active flight plan page with flight plancurrently in use.Since using flight plans is arguably one of the morecomplex features of the 400W-series, we’ll only discussit briefly here — focusing on creating a new flightplan and activating it to use for navigation. Additionalinformation about flight plans can be found in Section4 Flight Plans.To create a new flight plan:1. Press the FPL key and turn the small rightknob to select the flight plan catalog.2. Press the MENU key to display the flight plancatalog options.3. Turn the large right knob to select “CreateNew Flight Plan?” and press ENT.To create a new flight plan, select “CreateNew Flight Plan?” from the flight plancatalog options.4. T h ecursor will appear on the first waypoint identi-fier field (located directly below “WAYPOINT”).Use the large and small right knobs to enterthe identifier of the first waypoint in the flightplan. (The small knob is used to select thedesired letter or number and the large knobis used to move to the next character space.)Enter the identifier for each airport and/ornavaid into the flight plan in the samesequence you wish to fly.5. PressENT once the identifier has been selected. Thecursor will move to the next blank waypoint
