One-time, periodic, and event-based messagesare allowed. One-time messages will appear oncethe timer expires and will reappear each time the400W-series unit is powered on, until the messageis deleted. Periodic messages will automaticallyreset to the original timer value, once the messageis displayed. Event-based messages do not use atimer, but rather a specific date and time.Fuel PlanningTo perform fuel planning operations:1. Select “Fuel Planning” from the flight planningpage.2. The current fuel planning “mode” is displayedat the top of the page: “POINT TO POINT” or“FPL” (for a flight plan). To change the mode, press MENU to display an options window forthe other mode, then press ENT to accept theother mode. The “Flight Plan?” option allows you toselect the numbered flight plan for fuel plan-ning. The “Change Fields?” option allowsyou to select fuel information for each fieldas desired.3a. For point-to-point fuel planning, turn the smalland large right knobs to enter the identifierof the “from” waypoint. Once the waypoint’sidentifier is entered, press ENT to accept thewaypoint. The flashing cursor moves to the“to” waypoint. Again, turn the small andlarge right knobs to enter the identifier ofthe “to” waypoint and press ENT to acceptthe waypoint.
