252 Keysight N9923-90001 User’s GuideSafety ConsiderationsBattery Protective FunctionsBattery Protective FunctionsThe following protective functions are designed into the lithium-ionrechargeable battery system used in FieldFox.Do not pierce the battery with nails, strike the battery with ahammer, step on the battery, or otherwise subject it to strongimpacts or shocks.Do not solder directly onto the battery.Do not expose the battery to water or salt water, or allow thebattery to get wet.Do not disassemble or modify the battery. The battery containssafety and protection devices, which if damaged, may cause thebattery to generate heat, explode, or ignite.Do not place the battery in direct sunlight, or use or store thebattery inside cars in hot weather. Doing so may cause the batteryto generate heat, explode, or ignite. Using the battery in thismanner may also result in a loss of performance and a shortenedlife expectancy. There is a danger of explosion if the battery is incorrectly replaced.Replace only with the same or equivalent type of batteryrecommended. Discard used batteries according to manufacturer’sinstructions. If you are charging the batteries internally, even while the FieldFoxis powered off, the FieldFox may become warm.
