A lithium-ionbattery has no memory effect, so it can be used partially charged, as shipped.A fully charged battery will power your FieldFox for about four hours, so if youplan to use it for this long, you should fully charge the battery.Learn more about the lithium-ion battery in Chapter 16, “Working with theLithium-Ion Battery”, on page 239.Battery charge status is viewable:— In the upper-right corner of the screen.— On the Battery screen. To access the screen, select System, ServiceDiagnostics, and Battery.Step Notes1. Open the battery door Push the button on the battery compartment door while sliding thedoor outward.2. Insert the battery. The terminals end of the battery is inserted into the compartment.3. Close the battery door. Slide the battery compartment door upwards until it latches.The FieldFox will shut down to prevent the battery from discharging to alevel that is damaging. If this occurs, charge the battery either internally orexternally.
