Departures (SIDs), arrivals (STARs), non-preci-sion and precision approaches are stored within theNavData card and available using the PROC (proce-dures) key.To display the procedures page, press PROC.The steps required to select and activate anapproach, departure or arrival are identical. In thisintroductory section, we’ll show examples of the stepsrequired to select an approach, but keep in mind thesame process also applies to departures and arrivals.To select an approach, departure, or arrival:1. Turn the small right knob to select the desredopton (“Select Approach?”, “Select Arrval?”or “Select Departure?”) from the procedurespage.Press the PROC key to display the procedurespage. Turn the large right knob to select thedesired option.2. Press ENT to dsplay a lst of avalable proce-dures for the arrval (when usng approachesor STARs) or departure (when usng SIDs)arport.3. Turn the small right knob to select the desredprocedure and press ENT.4. For approaches, a wndow appears to select thedesred ntal approach fix (IAF) or provde a“vectors” opton to select just the final coursesegment of the approach. Turn the small rightknob to select the desred opton and pressENT. Vectors gudance s relatve to the finalnbound course. A lne s drawn beyond thefinal approach fix, allowng you to nterceptthe final course segment beyond ts normallmts.A window will appear to select the desiredprocedure. Use the large right knob to makeyour selection.5. For departures and arrvals, a wndow appearsto select the desred transton. Turn the smallright knob to select the desred opton andpress ENT.6. Wth “Load?” hghlghted, press ENT to addthe procedure to the flght plan or drect-to.In your flight plan or direct-to, the departureor arrival airport is replaced with the sequence ofwaypoints contained within the selected procedure.
