APPENDIX ANavData Card Use190 190-00356-00 Rev BAppendix ANavData Card UseThe Jeppesen NavData® card supplied with your400W-series unit can be installed or removed whenthe 400W-series unit is off. Insert the card with theswing arm handle at the bottom and the label facingto the left (see illustration right). If the NavData cardis not present when the unit is turned on, you willreceive a “No Jeppesen Aviation Database - Limited touser defined waypoints” message on the database con-firmation page. If the NavData card is removed duringoperation, a “Data card removed-Unit will restart in 30seconds” warning. The 400W-series unit will automat-ically reinitialize even if the card is reinserted. You mayalso reinitialize the unit manually by pressing ENT.To insert the NavData card:1. Place the card nto the NavData card slot, wththe label facng to the left and the swng armhandle at the bottom front.NOTE:There are two data card slots on the faceof the 400W-series. The Jeppesen NavData®card should be inserted in the left-most slot. Thesecond slot is provided for the terrain card.2. Press the NavData card nto place untl t seatson the nternal connector and the front of thecard s flush wth the face of the 400W-seresunt.3. If the swng arm handle s up, gently lower thehandle and push t nto place—flush wth theface of the 400W-seres unt.To remove the NavData card:1. Gently press on the tab—usng a slght upwardmoton—at the front center of the NavDatacard. Ths wll partally deploy the swng armhandle.2. Turn the swng arm handle upward (and out-ward) untl t locks nto place, perpendcular tothe face of the 400W-seres unt.3. Grasp the top and bottom surfaces of the swngarm handle, between your thumb and forefin-ger, and pull drectly away from the face of the400W-seres unt to unseat the connector andremove the NavData card.
