33Configure the settings relating to the SD memory card [SDmemory card]Click the [SD memory card] tab on the "Basic" page. (☞ Pages 26 and 27: How to display/operate the setup menu)The settings relating to the SD memory card can be configured on this page.■ SD memory card[SD memory card]Select "Use" or "Not use" to determine whether or notto use the SD memory card.Default: UseImportant:• Select "Not use" when operating without a SDmemory card.• When the setting is changed between "Use" and"Not use" while another user is during operation, theoperation will be canceled.• Before removing the SD memory card from thecamera, it is necessary to select "Not use" first.• After inserting the SD memory card, it is necessaryto select "Use" to use the SD memory card.• When playing or downloading images saved on theSD memory card, it is necessary to select "On" for"Save logs" on the [Log] tab (☞ page 43) inadvance.• When the image refresh interval is short, notifica-tion/recording timing or interval may become incor-rect. Notification/recording may also not be per-formed correctly as configured when multiple usersare receiving images. In this case, set the refreshinterval longer.• There are limited times to overwrite on an SD mem-ory card. When having a high frequency of overwrit-ing, the lifetime of the SD memory card maybecome shorter.• A lifetime of a SD memory card should be influ-enced by the number of the image files stored andlog savings on the SD memory card. SelectingH.264 for "Recording format" can reduce the num-ber of files to be stored on the SD memory card.• The data writing speed will go down after data arerepeatedly written down on an SD memory card.[Recording format]Select "JPEG" or "H.264" for the video encoding formatof image data to be recorded on the SD memory card.JPEG: Records still image data.H.264: Records video data in the MP4 video encodingformat. Audio will not be recorded.Default: JPEGNote:• When "H.264" is selected, it will become impossibleto transmit images with the settings of MPEG-4 orH. 264(2).• When "H.264" is selected, the settings for"H.264(2)" on the [JPEG/H.264] tab of the "Image/Audio" page will be changed to the settings for"H.264 recording".• When the setting value of "Video encoding format"on the [JPEG/H.264] tab of the "Image/Audio" pageis changed from "H.264" to "MPEG-4", the settingvalue of "Recording format" will automatically bechanged to "JPEG".
