These settings control the mannerin which the PBX features described in this Feature Guide function, and changing these settings is referredto as "system programming".System programming can be performed by only one person at a time. A second person attempting toprogram the system will be denied access to system programming.Ways to ProgramThere are two programming methods:• PC ProgrammingAll system programming can be performed. Installing and starting the KX-TAW848 MaintenanceConsole is described in Section 3.2 PC Programming. Individual PC programming items aredescribed in the on-line help of the Maintenance Console.• PT (Proprietary Telephone) ProgrammingA subset of system programming can be performed. PT programming is described in Section 3.3PT Programming. An extension user can perform system programming by entering 3-digitprogramming numbers with a PT.3.1.2 Password SecurityTo maintain system security, system passwords are required to access programming functions of the PBX.The following system passwords are available:Password DescriptionPT System Password (PT) forUserUsed to access user-level PT programming. Permitted PTprogramming settings are available. Access to each systemprogramming item can be controlled.System Password (PT) forAdministratorUsed to access administrator-level PT programming.
