Place the server on a flat stable surface.Connecting Peripheral DevicesThe server is provided with connectors for wide variety of peripheral devices onits front and rear. Figure 2-34 illustrates available peripheral devices for theserver in the standard configuration and locations of the connectors for thedevices.! CAUTIONPower off the server and peripheral device beforeconnection. Connecting a powered peripheral device to thepowered server may cause malfunctions and failures.! Before connecting a third-party peripheral device or interface cable to theserver, consult with your sales agent. Some third-party devices may notbe used with the server.! The total length of a cable (including the connection cable within a SCSIdevice) is limited by the SCSI standard. Ask your service representativefor details. (The internal SCSI cable of the server is 0.1 m long.)
