See Chapter 5 for details on the error messages. If the AC POWER lamps are off, reinstall the power supply units. Ifthe same error message still appears, contact your servicerepresentative.Replacing a Power SupplyIMPORTANT: Do not remove a power supply unit operating normally.NOTE: If one power supply unit fails and the server contains two power supplyunits in a redundant configuration, the failing power supply unit can be replacedwith the system power on. (If your server is running in the redundant powerconfiguration, skip Step 1 and 2 in the following procedure.)1. Observe the safety and ESD precautions listed under General Informationand Static Precautions at the beginning of this chapter.2. Perform the steps in "Preparing Your System for Upgrade" described earlierin this chapter3. Locate the failing power supply unit by the AC POWER lamp on the rear ofeach power supply unit. (The lamp of the failing power supply unit isamber.)4. Hold and pull the handle of the failing power supply unit. The power supplyunit is unlocked.5. Remove the power supply unit. If operating the server with a single power supply unit without installing anew one, install the blank cover.IMPORTANT: To maintain the cooling effect in the server, install the blankcover in the slot not containing a power supply unit.
