58 Routine MaintenanceENGLISH Replacing a FINE Cartridge1 Make sure the fax is turned on.2 Open the Printer Cover until it locks into place securely at the second bump.3 Remove the empty FINE Cartridge.(1) Push down the FINE Cartridge.(2) Remove the FINE Cartridge.4 Prepare a replacement FINE Cartridge.(1) Unpack a new FINE Cartridge and remove theProtective Tape (A) gently.Notez Do not replace the FINE Cartridge while the fax is printing or performing another operation.z If you need to unplug the fax, wait until it returns to standby mode (time and receive mode displayed onthe LCD). Otherwise the Cartridge Holder may not be in its home position, causing the FINE Cartridgeto remain uncapped and dry out.Cautionz Do not try to manually move or stop the Cartridge Holder.z Do not touch any metal parts.Importantz Handle FINE Cartridges carefully to avoidstaining your clothes or surrounding area.z Discard empty FINE Cartridges according to locallaws and disposal regulations.Importantz Do not reattach the Protective Tape once youhave removed it.z Handle the removed Protective Tape carefully toavoid getting your hands dirty or stainingsurrounding work area.z Once the Protective Tape is removed, do nottouch the electrical contacts (A) or Print HeadNozzles (B) on the FINE Cartridge.
