77Display the operation windowStep 1Start the web browser.Step 2Enter the IP address or URL assigned to the recorderinto the [Address] box, and then press the [Enter] key.→ The authentication window will be displayed. Theauthentication window will not be displayed when"Off" is selected fro "User authentication" on the[Basic] tab of "User mng." of the setup menu.Important:• Refer to a system administrator for further infor-mation about the set IP address.• It is impossible to access the recorder from a PCwhose IP address is not registered in the recorderwhen "On" is selected for "Host authentication"on the [Basic] tab of "User mng." of the setupmenu. Refer to a system administrator for furtherinformation.• Do not attach "0" before the numbers when enter-ing IP address.Example: b 192.168.0.50X 192.168.0.050• If a message is displayed on the information bar,see page 127.Note:• When displaying the top page of the operationwindow of the recorder on a PC for the first time,the wizard for ActiveX installation required to dis-play images from cameras will be displayed.Follow the instructions of the wizard to completethe installation.• When any ActiveX for Panasonic’s digital diskrecorder other than this product is alreadyinstalled, uninstall "WebVideo ActiveX" from "Addor Remove Programs" in "Control Panel" and theninstall ActiveX for this product.• When the installation wizard is displayed eachtime displaying other page even though installa-tion of ActiveX for this product has been complet-ed, reboot the PC.Step 3Enter the user name and password registered in therecorder, and then click the [Login] button.→ The top page will be displayed.Important:• Refer to a system administrator for the set username and password.• Refer to the Installation Guide for how to registerusers.• The default administrator name and password areas follows.Administrator name: ADMINPassword: 12345• To enhance the security, change the administratorname and password before running the recorder.Change the password periodically.Refer to the Installation Guide for how to changethe password.• Refer to page 127 when a message is displayedon the information bar or when an unnecessarystatus bar or scroll bar is displayed on the pop-upwindow.Boot the PC and operate the recorder using a web browser.
