2.4 Fault Recovery/Diagnostics2.4.1 Power Failure TransferDescriptionWhen the power supply to the PBX fails, specific SLTs and/or ISDN terminal devices are automaticallyconnected to specific trunks (Power Failure Connections). The PBX will switch from normal operation to thePower Failure Connections, and all existing conversations will be disconnected.Only the trunks handled by Power Failure Connections can be used during a power failure.Conditions• Only trunk calls can be made during a power failure. All other features do not work.• DC Power SourceIf the DC power is available from backup batteries, even if the AC power fails, the PBX will remain fullyoperational.• The analogue trunk cards and extension cards, as well as the number of PFT ports (ports which can beused for Power Failure Connections) are as follows:Trunk Cards: LCOT16 (4 PFT ports), LCOT8 (2 PFT ports), LCOT4 (2 PFT ports), and CLCOT8 (2 PFTports)Extension Cards: MCSLC24 (2 PFT ports) and MCSLC16 (2 PFT ports)Only connect one extension card to each trunk card.NoteThrough system programming, it is possible to allow trunk calls that are established during a powerfailure to be maintained even when the power returns and the connection is switched back to the normalconfiguration from the Power Failure Connection.
