Troubleshooting 8-13SOLVING PROBLEMSWhen the server fails to operate as expected, see the following to find out your problem and followthe instruction given before asking for repair.If the server still fails to operate successfully after solving your problem, take a note on theon-screen message and contact your service representative.Problems with the ServerFail to power on the server:T Is the server is properly supplied with power?→ Check if the power cord is connected to a power outlet (or UPS) that meets thepower specifications for the server.→ Make sure to use the power cord provided with the server. Check the power cordfor broken shield or bent plugs.→ Make sure the power breaker for the connected power outlet is on.→ If the power cord is plugged to a UPS, make sure the UPS is powered and itoutputs power. See the manual that comes with the UPS for details.Power supply to the server may be linked with the connected UPS using the BIOSsetup utility of the server. [Server] - [AC-LINK]>T Did you press the POWER switch?→ Press the POWER switch on the front of the server to turn on the power (thePOWER LED lights).Fail to power off the server:T Is the POWER switch enabled?→ Restart the server and start the BIOS setup utility. [Security] - [Power Switch Inhibit]>T Is the server running in the Secure Mode?→ The POWER switch is disabled in the Secure Mode. (Forced shutdown is also notavailable.) To release the Secure Mode, enter the password specified with theBIOS SETUP utility.
