LYNX Touch Installation and Setup Guide- 52 -System OperationKey/Touchscreen OperationThe keys and touchscreen allows the user to arm and disarm the system, and perform other systemfunctions, such as bypassing zones. Zone and system conditions (ALARM, trouble, bypass) are displayed onthe display. When an alarm occurs, console sounding and external sounding will occur, and the zone(s) inalarm will be displayed on the display. Pressing any key will silence the keypad sounder for 10 seconds (onlyonce). Disarming the system will silence both console and external sounders. When the system is disarmed,any zones that were in an alarm condition during the armed period will be displayed (memory of alarm). Toclear this display, simply repeat the disarm sequence by pressing the OFF key and entering the SecurityCode. The console also features chime annunciation, and three panic key icons for silent, audible, fire orpersonal emergency alarms. These keys can notify the central station of an alarm condition, if that serviceis connected.Panic Key/IconsThere are three panic key icons that, if programmed, are displayed on the virtual keypad when the “PANIC”key is depressed for four seconds. The panic key screen will timeout if a selection is not made within tenseconds. The keys can be used to manually initiate alarms and send a report to the central station. Each canbe individually programmed for 24-hour silent, audible, personal or fire emergency responses. The panicfunction is activated when the respective keys is pressed. The panic functions are identified by the system asfollows:Zone Function95 Fire Emergency96 Medical Emergency99 Police EmergencyImportant: For the silent panic functions to be of practical value, the system must be connected to a central station.Security CodesInstaller CodeThe installer programs the 4-digit Installer Code initially as part of the programming procedure. Thefactory default Installer Code is 4-1-1-2, but may be changed in the Installer Code programmingfield. The Installer Code is the only code that allows entry into Installer Programming mode.Master CodeIn normal operation mode, the Master Code is used to enter the 4-digit User Security Codes.Enter/Change the Master Code by installer.The factory default Master Code for the LYNX Touch Control is set to 1-2-3-4.
