Setting the Time Code76MenusTable of Contents IndexSetting the Time Code’s Initial ValueIf you set the time code mode to [ Preset], you can set the initialvalue of the time code.1 Press the MENU button.2 Open the [Initial Time Code] submenu.[3 Recording Setup] > [2] > [Initial Time Code]• The time code setting screen appears with an orange selection frameindicating the hours.3 Touch [Í] or [Î] to set the hours and then touch the next field to set the minutes.4 Change the rest of the fields (minutes, seconds, frame) in the same way.• Touch [Cancel] to close the screen without setting the time code.• Touch [Reset] to reset the time code. If the running mode is set to [ Free Run], the time code will startrunning immediately after the time code is reset.5 Touch [OK] and then touch [X].• If the running mode is set to [ Free Run], the time code will start running from the selected time codethe moment you touch [OK].Selecting Drop or Non-Drop FrameYou can select between a drop frame (DF) or non-drop frame (NDF) timecode, depending on how you plan to use your recordings. When theframe rate set in [3 Recording Setup] > [1] > [4K Recording] or [HDRecording] is 23.98P, the time code is set to non-drop frame (NDF) andcannot be changed.1 Open the [DF/NDF] submenu.[3 Recording Setup] > [2] > [DF/NDF]2 Select [DF] or [NDF] and then touch [X].• The time code display will differ depending on the setting. When you select [DF], the time code will appearas [00:00:00.00]; when you select [NDF], it will appear as [00:00:00:00].NOTES• The frames value of the time code runs from 0 to 23 (frame rate set in [3 Recording Setup] > [1] > [4KRecording] or [HD Recording] is 23.98P) or from 0 to 29 (all other frame rates).• However, when the video output from the HDMI OUT terminal is 59.94i/59.94P, even when the frame rate setin [3 Recording Setup] > [1] > [4K Recording] or [HD Recording] is 23.98P, the frames value of the timecode output from the terminal will be 0 to 29.• When you are using slow & fast motion recording mode, you cannot select the [ Free Run] running mode.Conversely, when you are using pre-recording mode, [ Free Run] is set automatically and cannot bechanged.• When you mix drop frame and non-drop frame time codes, there might be a discontinuity in the time code atthe point where the recording starts.• When you are using the [ Free Run] running mode, the time code will continue running as long as thebuilt-in rechargeable lithium battery is charged, even if you disconnect all other power sources.
