Turning On the CopierWorkConnect the power plug to thepower outlet.Turn on the power switch.Turn off the power switch.Supply toner according to theinstructions given on the tonersupply label attached behind thefront door.Release the developing assemblyby the developing assemblylocking lever.Install the drum unit.Lock the developing assembly,and close the copier’s top unit.Insert the door switch activator intothe door switch, and turn on thepower.In others model except Europeanmodel, this procedure is notnecessary.Go to step 10).Select service mode No. 313/314,and enter the settings recorded onthe drum label.To select service mode,• Press the service mode switch(SW850) with a hex key.Select ‘3’ of the mode by press-ing ‘3’ on the keypad and AEkey; then, select ‘No. 3 xx’ bypressing ‘x’ and ‘x’ on the keypadand the start key.RemarksCaution:• Make sure that the power outlet is the rating ±10%.Make sure that the Add Paper message flashes.• Press the keypad and the Clear key to make sure thatthe copy count indication is correct.Caution:When turning the toner cartridge counterclockwise toset it, you must fully turn it until it is locked; the develop-ing assembly can cause a fault if you operate themachine without locking the cartridge.See “D. Attaching the Drum Unit.”To enter settings,• Select ‘No. 313’ in service mode, and enter the settingrecorded on the label (PRIMARY) using the keypad.
