Identifying the Size of PaperYou must set the switch (SW1) on the deck sizeswitch PCB to suit the size of paper set inside thepaper deck. When you set the switch, the paper size signal(SIZE1 and SIZE2) sent to the pedestal controllerPCB changes to ‘1’ or ‘0’.Based on the combination of these paper sizesignals, the pedestal controller PCB identifies thesize of the paper inside the paper deck as follows:*The configuration of SW 1 represents when theswitch is viewed from the front.Table 2-401b. Identifying the Presence/Absence of PaperThe presence and absence of copy paper insidethe paper deck is identified by the deck papersensor (PS1).When the paper deck runs out of paper, thepaper detecting spacer attached to the pick-uproller shaft drops. As a result, the paper detecting lever leaves thedeck paper sensor (PS1), causing the pedestalcontroller PCB to identify the absence of paper.Paper detecting spacerPaper detecting leverPaper sensor (PS1)LifterFigure 3-436Paper detecting spacerPaper detecting leverPaper sensor (PS1)LifterFigure 3-437Paper size* SIZE 1 SIZE 2B5 1 2A4 0 1LTR 1 01 2 31 2 31 2 3
