C / February 2017SMU circuit COMMON connectionsSome test situations require SMUs to be connected to each DUT terminal. In these situations, circuitCOMMON is not hardwired to any of the DUT terminals. Therefore, the SMUs must be able tointernally connect circuit COMMON to their FORCE signal when the test requires a DUT terminal tobe connected to COMMON. The next figure shows typical SMU connections using three SMUs to testa transistor. Any of the three SMUs could be used to provide access to circuit COMMON simply byprogramming it accordingly.
