UBI Stand-Alone Concept45EDITING LAYOUTS, cont'd.Editing a Bar Code Field,cont'd.Append text?0:No 1:YesThis menu will only be displayed if at least one character of fixedtext has been entered in the previous menu.In case of bar codes where the input must contain a certain numberof digits (i.e., EAN and UPC codes), this menu will not be displayedif all digits already have been entered as fixed text. The same appliesto next menu too.Press either < 0 > or < 1 > to go on.q Press < 1 > to allow more input data to be appended to the fixedbar code input in the Run Mode.Prompt 00– – – – – – – – – – – – –This menu will only be displayed if you have bypassed the fixed textmenu completely, or if you have entered some fixed text and thenanswered yes in the subsequent menu “Append text?”. Here youcan enter a prompt of max. 13 characters, that will be displayed atlabel editing in the Run Mode, telling the operator to enter theremaining input data to the bar code. The combined number ofcharacters in the fixed text and in the prompt must not exceed 20.Enter max. 13 characters of prompt text and press < Enter >, orbypass this option by just pressing < Enter >.q Type “Art._No?” (code: 33 82 84 14 00 46 79 31) and press< Enter >.The printer will beep and flash the message “Saving”, when thefield is loaded into the printer's memory.Field number– 5 EmptyA bar code always requires two field in the layout, one for the barcode and the other for the interpretation. For all practical purposes,the two fields are identical.If you want to change the bar code, it does not matter in which ofthe two fields you make the changes, since both fields contain thesame information and both will be updated.Now you can print a proof label, make changes, delete the field orexit as described on page 37, or start editing Field No. 5 as describedon next page. |
