UBI Stand-Alone Concept28One single external device, e.g. a scanner, can be connected to anyof the printer's communication ports, serial or parallel. The devicemust only transmit input data in the form of ASCII charactersfollowed by a carriage return (CR) and/or linefeed (LF) character.No other control characters are allowed.Starting from the Main Stand-Alone menu, proceed as follows:Select Mode1:Run 2:SetSelect the Set Mode by pressing < 2 >.1:Layout 2:Setup3:Transm 4:DateSelect the Transmission option by typing < 3 >.0:Output 1:Input2:Keyb 3:DeviceSelect the Device option by typing < 3 >.Ext. Device on1-4 (0=off) 0In this menu you can either disable an external device or enable itsconnection on one of max. four communication ports:0 = External device disabled1 = "uart1:" (serial) 3 = "uart3:" (serial)2 = "uart2:" (serial) 4 = "centronics:" (parallel)The present setup is indicated by the character in the lower rightcorner of the display. Select the desired option by pressing thecorresponding key. Then the program will take you back to the maintransmission menu:0:Output 1:Input2:Keyb 3:DevicePress < Esc > to return to the main menu of the Set Mode:1:Layout 2:Setup3:Transm 4:DatePress < Esc > to return to the Main Stand-Alone menu.EXTERNAL DEVICEIMPORTANT!Always turn off the powerto the printerwhen fitting or removingthe cable from the ext. device. |
