UBI Stand-Alone Concept29EDITING LAYOUTSContinued!A layout is the basis for each label and may contain a mix of fixedinformation entered in the Set Mode and formatting instructions forinput data, which is added in the Run Mode. Each layout is madeup of 1 – 99 fields of various types:• Text field i.e., one line of fixed and/or variable text ornumeric data, optionally with decimals.• Bar code field i.e., one bar code with fixed and/or variableinput data.• Image field i.e., one fixed image, picture or logotype.• Line field i.e. one fixed straight line.• Box field i.e., one fixed rectangle.• Counter field i.e., a line of fixed text (optional) followed bya consecutive numbering counter with vari-able start value.• Time field i.e., a line of fixed text (optional) followed bythe current time (hours and minutes).• Date field i.e., a line of fixed text (optional) followed bythe current date, or a date occurring a vari-able number of days later than the currentdate.The editing of layouts will be explained for all types of fields, oneafter the other, starting from the Main Stand-Alone menu. The labels andlayouts can then be downloaded to theStand-Alone printer by means of atemporarily fitted communication cable.1 /.
