The appendingtext may consist of up to 99 characters, provided there is enoughroom on the label. If you choose not to allow text to be appended,this text field will not be displayed at label editing in the Run Mode.Press < 0 > to prevent, or < 1 > to allow more text to be appendedto the fixed text.Next menu will only be displayed in two instances:• When no fixed text has been entered.• When some fixed text has been entered and the subsequent menu“Append text?” has been answered by 1 (=Yes).Prompt 00– – – – – – – – – – – – –In this menu you may enter a prompt that will be displayed, whenthe layout is used for editing a label in the Run Mode. The prompttells the operator what kind of information to enter, but it will notbe printed on the label.The prompt may contain up to 13 characters, but when used inconnection with fixed text, the total number of characters for theprompt and the fixed text must not exceed 20. E.g., a fixed text ofmax. size (15 characters) only leaves 5 characters for a prompt.The text of the prompt must be encoded, unless you have anEasyCoder 501 SA or an external alpha-numeric keyboard. Thecounter in the upper right corner of the menu helps you to keeprecord of the number of characters being entered. After havingentered the prompt, press < Enter >.If you just press < Enter >, the first 14 characters of the fixed text,if any, will be displayed instead of a prompt in the Run Mode.q Enter the prompt “Product?” (code: 48 82 79 68 85 67 84 31),then press < Enter >.The printer will beep twice and briefly flash the message “Saving”on the display, indicating that the field is loaded into the printer'smemory.Field number–2 EmptyWhen a Field select menu is displayed, there are a number of optionsavailable, as described on next page.Continued!
