-35- Physical Format MenuThis menu lets you perform physical formatting of theDVD-RAM Disc after logical formatting. The processinvolves checking of all disc sectors for logical andphysical errors and then substituting the damagedareas. Normally use the Logical Format for formattingthe disc.1. Press the (–) and (+) buttons simultaneously forabout 2 seconds. The LOGICAL FORMAT menudescribed previously appears on the monitorscreen.2. Press the REC, PAUSE and PLAY buttons simulta-neously.The Physical Format menu shown below appears.PHYSICAL FORMATFORMAT STARTSTART : PRESS SET KEYPAUSE RECPLAY3. Press the SET button to start the physical format-ting.To return to the LOGICAL FORMAT menu, press theSET UP/ESC button.Note: All operating buttons are disabled duringphysical formatting (takes about one hour).Do not turn off the power while formatting is inprogress, as this could damage the disc.STATUS DISPLAYThe Status Display window shows the system status ofthe Disc Recorder.
