76REFERENCESetup Menu:TimeEnter an offset amountto adjust the time dis-play to your local area.In the United States, alloffset amounts will be‘Behind UTC’.If you’re unsure of theexact offset, select a ‘Lo-cal’ time format, thenenter offset values untilyou arrive at the correctlocal time.Time SettingsTime Format allows current time to bedisplayed using a 12- or 24- hour clock. Thisfield is also used to select between local andUTC time readouts.To select a time format:1. Highlight the ëTime Formatí field and press ENTERto display the available options.2. Select ëLocal 24hrí or ëLocal 12hrí to display localtime references. ëLocal 12hrí will show current timeusing a traditional AM/PM format, OR3. Select ëUTCí to display universal time references(also referred to as ëGreenwichí or ëzuluí time).Local Time Zone is used to define thecurrent local time. UTC date and time arecalculated directly from the satellites’ signalsand cannot be edited. If you prefer to uselocal time, you may designate an offset, either‘Behind UTC’ or ‘Ahead of UTC’. The offset isthe difference, in hours and minutes,between local time and UTC time.To enter the local time zone:1. Highlight the ëLocal Time Zoneí field and pressENTER.2. Select the desired offset amount (in hours andminutes) using the rocker keypad and pressENTER.3. Highlight the offset direction field (immediately tothe right) and press ENTER.4.
