Each of the main pages has an optionsmenu, allowing you to custom tailor thecorresponding page to your preferences and/orselect special features which specifically relate tothat page.To display the Position Page Options,press MENU (with the Position Pagedisplayed).The following options are available:Average Position— allows you to averageposition samples over time and save theaveraged result as a waypoint. Averagingreduces the effects of selective availability onposition error and results in a more accurateposition reading.To average position samples and save theresult as a waypoint:1. Highlight ëAverage Positioní and press ENTER.The Average Position Page will appear. Observethe ëEstimated Accuracyí and ëMeasurementCountí fields.2. When the ëEstimated Accuracyí and/or ëMeasure-ment Countí figures reach the desired value(s),highlight ëSaveí and press ENTER. (To cancel theaveraging function, highlight ëDiscardí and pressENTER.)3. The New Waypoint Page appears with a three-digit number assigned as a name for the newwaypoint. To save the waypoint with this name,highlight ëDoneí and press ENTER. Or,4. To change the waypoint name, highlight thewaypoint name field and press ENTER.
