Press ENTER toconfirm.The GPS 12 MAP can navigate to a destina-tion using any of four different methods:GOTO— lets you select a waypoint as yourdestination and quickly plot a direct coursefrom present position to that waypoint.MOB (man overboard)— captures yourpresent position, saves it as a waypoint andsets a course back to the position for quickresponse in an emergency.TracBack— allows you to retrace your pathusing the track log automatically stored inthe receiver’s memory. This eliminates theneed to store waypoints along the way. (Seepage 54 for more information aboutTracBack.)Routes— allows you to manually create asequence of intermediate waypoints whichlead you to your final destination. The GPS12 MAP will store up to 20 reversible routes,with up to 30 waypoints in each route.GOTO NavigationThe easiest way to select your destination isby using the GOTO key. The GOTO key can beused by itself, after highlighting a waypointname on a list, or after designating a positionon the map display.To GOTO a waypoint:1. Press GOTO. The GOTO Page shows a series offile tabs for ëRecentí waypoints, ëAllí waypoints,ëNearestí waypoints or ëSpell n Findí.2. To GOTO a recently used waypoint or a nearbywaypoint, select the ëRecentí tab or the ëNearestítab, highlight the desired waypoint on the list andpress ENTER.3. To GOTO any waypoint stored in memory, selectthe ëAllí tab, highlight the desired waypoint andpress ENTER.4. To enter the name of the destination waypoint,highlight the waypoint name field and pressENTER. (The ëSpell n Findí tab is automaticallyselected.) Use the rocker keypad to enter the nameof the desired waypointóUP/DOWN to changeeach character and RIGHT to move to the nextcharacter. Press ENTER to confirm the selection.
