49REFERENCENearestLocationsTo view the nearest loca-tions page, select ‘Near-est’ from the Main Menu.The nearest locationspages are organized asa series of “file tabs”.Select the appropriatetab to show as many asnine nearby waypoints,50 nearest cites, or 50nearest highway exits:along with the bearingand distance to each.Another waypoint feature of the GPS 12 MAPis the nearest locations pages, which show up tonine nearest waypoints and 50 nearest cities—within 200 miles of your present position—along with 50 exits on the nearest (interstate)highway. The nearest locations pages areorganized by a series of ‘file tabs’ (denotingcategories for Waypoints, Cities and Exits) anddisplay the bearing (BRG) and distance (DST) toeach nearby location for the selected tab(category). The lists are continuously updatedas you’re moving and provide quick access tothe closest points of safety in an emergency.To view the nearest locations pages:1. Press the MENU key twice to display the MainMenu.2. Highlight ëNearestí and press ENTER.3. Highlight the appropriate tab (Waypoints, Cities orExits) for the desired nearest list.4. Scroll through the list using the UP/DOWN portionof the rocker keypad.To view additional information for anearby location:1. Scroll through the selected nearest list (asdescribed above) and highlight the desiredlocation (Waypoint, City or Exit).2. Press ENTER to display an info page for theselected location.3. For waypoints, the information is displayed on theWaypoint Edit Page. You can edit the waypointíslocation, name, symbol, etc. from this page, asoutlined on pages 47.4. For cities, the information includes state, country,size or reference, and position. You can show themap area for the city, save it as a waypoint orswitch between size and reference information asdescribed on pages 65-66.5. For exits, all the exit services pages and relatedoptions menus (described on pages 33-34) areavailable.
