II. UNPACKING AND INSTALLING THE COPIERWhen a metal part is brought in from a cold to warm environment, droplets of watercan develop on the surface of the part. This phenomenon is called condensation, andcondensation in a copier can lead to faulty images. If the copier has been moved from acold to warm place, leave it alone for about one hour or more before unpacking it.A. Unpacking and Removing FixingsWorkUnpack the copier.Detach the plastic cover, andplace the copier on thepedestal holding its grips; besure to work in a group of two.Install the Cassette FeedingModule-B2 or -A2 (accessory)according to its InstallationProcedure if the copier is to beplaced on it.Open the cardboard box, andtake out all the accessories.Remove all tape from theoutside of the copier. Take outthe cassette from the cardboardbox, and remove the cushionsfrom inside the cassette; then,slide the cassette into the copier.Remove the tape from thescanner fixing found on theoutside of the left cover,remove the screw, and slide thefixing to the right to detach it tothe front.• Keep the fixing stored forpossible relocation of themachine.RemarksCheck that none of the following accessories is missing:• Copy tray • Installation Procedure• Cassette (Universal) • Operator’s ManualMake sure that the paper size plate and size label(1 pc. each) is inside the cassette.Step12345COPYRIGHT © 1997 CANON INC.
