The higher the resolutionthe higher the output quality at the other end, but the slower the transmission speed.Adjust the scanning resolution according to the type of document you are sending.If you are sending a document that requires some pages to be scanned at a differentresolution from the others, you can change the resolution setting while the document isbeing scanned. However, please note that the new setting will only be effective from thenext page scanned.Follow this procedure to set the scanning resolution:1 Press Image Quality repeatedly until theresolution setting you want isdisplayed.• You can select from the following:– FAX STANDARDSuitable for most text-only documents.– FAX FINESuitable for fine-print documents.– FAX PHOTOSuitable for documents that containimages such as photos. With thissetting, areas of the document thatcontain photos are automaticallyscanned with 64 levels of gray, ratherthan just in black & white.– SUPER FINESuitable for documents that containfine print and images. This setting isfour times the resolution of the FAXSTANDARD setting.2 Continue with the operation you areperforming.• If you do not proceed with any otheroperation, the LCD returns to standbymode after about 10 seconds.FAX PHOTO
