Chapter 9 Special Features 9-3Special FeaturesSwitching Temporarily to Tone DialingMany information services for banks, airline reservations, hotel reservations, etc.,require tone dialing for their services. If your machine is set for pulse dialing(1 p. 3-8), follow this procedure to set your machine temporarily for tone dialing:1 Press Hook.• You can also lift the handset instead ofpressing Hook.2 Use the numeric buttons to dial thetelephone number of the informationservice.• Your machine connects using the pulsesrequired by your telephone line.3 When the recorded message of theinformation service answers, press T(Tone) to switch to tone dialing.• When T (Tone) is pressed, (T) isdisplayed in the LCD.• If you pressed Hook in step 1, you canpick up the handset if you need to talkto the other party.4 Use the numeric buttons to enter thenumbers requested by the informationservice.• Numbers entered after pressing T(Tone) will be dialed using tone dialing.5 When you have finished, press Hookto disconnect the call.• If you used the handset, hang up todisconnect the call.• Tone dialing is canceled when youdisconnect the call.TEL= 7654321TT34TEL= 7654321TTEL= 7654321TEL=
