The error code appears in the activity report (see p. 8-7).MessageCauseActionLCD messagesAUTO REDIALBUSY/NO SIGNALCARTRIDGE JAMMEDThe fax is waiting to redial thereceiving number because theline was busy or the receivingparty did not answer whenyou tried to send thedocument.The telephone number youdialled is busy.The fax number dialled wasincorrect.The other party’s fax machineis not working.The other party is not using aG3 machine.The touch tone/rotary pulsesetting on your fax isincorrect.The receiving fax machine didnot answer within 55 seconds(after all automatic rediallingattempts).The cartridge holder cannotmove. This is normally due toa paper jam.The scanner unit may not bein the fully upright position.Wait for the fax to automaticallyredial the number. If you wantto cancel automatic redialling,wait until the fax starts diallingthe number, and press [Stop](see p. 5-9).Try sending the document at alater time.Check the fax number and dialagain.Contact the other party andhave them check their faxmachine.Contact the other party and askthem to send or receive thedocument using a G3 machine.Set your fax to the setting thatmatches your telephone line(see p. 1-12).Contact the receiving party andhave them check their faxmachine. You can try to sendthe document using manualsending (see p. 5-4). For long-distance call, add pauses to theregistered number (see p. 5-8).Clear the paper jam orwhatever is obstructing thecartridge holder and then press[Stop] and start again. Do notattempt to move the cartridgeholder manually.Press the document releasebutton, then gently move thescanner unit to the fully uprightposition.
