Check the condition of the batterymonthly by looking at the testindicator window. The label on thebattery explains the test indicator’scolors.Battery posts,terminals, and related accessoriescontain lead and lead compounds.Check the terminals for corrosion (awhite or yellowish powder). Toremove it, cover the terminals with asolution of baking soda and water. Itwill bubble up and turn brown. Whenthis stops, wash it off with plainwater. Dry off the battery with acloth or paper towel. Coat theterminals with grease to help preventfuture corrosion.If additional battery maintenance isneeded, see your dealer or aqualified technician.If you need to connect the battery toa charger, disconnect both cables toprevent damaging your vehicle’selectrical system.
