-12-OPERATING THE CAMERAYou can operate the camera in two ways: from the PCby way of network, or locally from the camera or systemdevice.Access from the PCYour PC can access the camera to view images and toset up menus.Prior to operating from the PC, confirm that connectionsare made properly as shown in the previous page,CONNECTIONS.1. Start up the PC.2. Start up the Web browser, Internet Explorer orNetscape Communicator.3. Enter the IP address of the camera in the addressbar.The camera address is set to 192.168.0.10 at thefactory default setting.4. Press Enter on the keyboard.5. The main page of the WV-NP472 camera willappear on the display.Note: Adobe Acrobat Reader should have beeninstalled on your PC to open the manual. Visitthe home pages of Adobe Systems Incorpo-rated.Preliminary SetupPrior to connection to the system, you need to set up anetwork address for the camera by one-to-one connec-tion with a PC.Parameters at the factory default are set as follows.IP address: 192.168.0.10Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0Gateway: 192.168.0.1HTTP port number: 801. Enter an IP address, “http://192.168.0.10” forexample, in the address bar of the browser to dis-play the main page of the WV-NP472 camera.ALARM INALARM OUTAUX OUTDAY/NIGHT INGND A BVIDEO OUTRCVLINK10BASE-T/100BASE-TXPOWERDC 12VIN Network Cable (Cross type)2. Click the Setup Menu button. The authenticationdialog appears.3. Enter “admin” in the user name line, and you neednot enter the password as the default setting. Thenetwork setup window appears.
