Install the management NIC adapterFollow instructions in this section to install the management NIC adapter.About this task• Read “Installation Guidelines” on page 47 and “Safety inspection checklist” on page 48 to ensure that youwork safely.• Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See“Power off the server” on page 62.• Prevent exposure to static electricity, which might lead to system halt and loss of data, by keeping static-sensitive components in their static-protective packages until installation, and handling these devices withan electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding system.Firmware and driver download: You might need to update the firmware or driver after replacing acomponent.• Go to https://datacentersupport.lenovo.com/products/servers/thinksystem/sr665v3/downloads/driver-list/ tosee the latest firmware and driver updates for your server.• Go to “Update the firmware” on page 467 for more information on firmware updating tools.ProcedureStep 1.
